Honda CR-Z

Telefon Baii semalam dia tak angkat pula, mungkin tengah tala RXZ Mat Kacau.

The Honda S2000

The s2000 was introduced to the world in 1999 and it was great looking sports car to own. Like it ancestors (S500, S800), the Honda roadster looks sporty and elegant when driving around and I would say with another marvellous engineering by Honda. With compact and safety in mind, the Honda S2000 is made out of a monocoque chassis (think of it as you are sitting on a tub, similar to many sports cars like he Enzo Ferrari and the Formula 1 cars). With their probable target to the SLK and the BMW Z4 in the future, the Honda S2000 could add a more powerful engine and it could be bigger from the interior point of view with seats at the back and a probable 4-door version. These are just speculation as Honda will only come out to the public in 2009 or later on their plans.

I have tested the S2000 a few weeks back and the experience was good for a considerably small car. The first thing I find a problem is the space of the car where it barely fit my large frame. I did not dare to take the car to the limit due to the clutch problem the he had but the power was definitely there when I tried it on the straights (well it has basically 240 plus horses on it as the one I tested was a stock 2002 Japan spec). If you read the other review on the web, the earlier version of the s2000 has fewer horses on it. Do not really know why they do so but I would think its due to the size of the car as it’s a relatively small framed car and moreover you don’t need the extra horses if you are not dragging with someone in your everyday driving. It all comes to the overall balance to the car. I feel that the car oversteers a little when taking the corners (or it could be my poor driving skill J).

Anyhow the cars design is pretty impressive with a short back with strictly 2 seats on the car (so if you have more then one chic to bring out on a date then don’t buy this car!). I strongly feel that Japanese cars feels like a toy car as when I was driving the car it does not feel solid maybe it’s the compactness if the car but I just feel like any European cars like the Bmer or the Mercs.

In short this car is a cool car to own with an RM180k but bot a very practical car to drive. I would much prefer this to the Mazda Miata for the looks and power but if price is not the matter in this case, the BMW z4 would be a great car to own drive.

Mitsubishi Evo VIII MR 424 HP 398 LB-FT Of Torque

Mitsubishi Evo 8 Mr Top View

When it comes to explosive performance out of the box, the Lancer Evolution has always been right up there with he Skyline GT-R and Toyota Supra. But like all cars of this nature, it's the limitless tuning potential that has made them so popular. Just take a look at what the likes that the Cyber Evo has managed to extract from the 4G63, and even now that the Evolution X has arrived, real diehard Evo fans wouldn't trade up to save their lives. The owner of the Evo VIII MR you see here is exactly this sort of person, appreciating what Mitsubishi has done with the X but preferring to stick to previous-generation models. He has gone all out and literally created a street-going Cyber Evo replica with the help of the folks at Unlimited Works and Voltex. The result is one of the most intimidating cars we have come across lately. It's a car that means business even while sitting quietly on the show stand at the '08 Tokyo Auto Salon, where we first laid our eyes on it.

Mitsubishi Evo 8 Mr Turbo Manifold

The idea behind this project was very simple. The owner wanted his Evo VIII MR to be a great all-rounder, by performing well on track as well as on the road. Every aspect of the car had to be tailored to his demands, which as Sato-san of Unlimited Works said, "wasn't going to be an easy job, to say the least." Since the car had to be shown on the Unlimited Works stand at this year's Tokyo Auto Salon, the first thing on the cards had to be the exterior. Unlimited Works looked after the incredibly fast Time Attack Cyber Evo and, with this in mind, the idea came to create a kind of road-going version of the track car. Voltex was called into the project and supplied all the necessary body parts to transform the already aggressive Evo VIII MR into something very special. So on went the street-version model of the Cyber Evo front bumper, featuring the same aggressive design as the one-off track version but with more ground clearance. The massive center opening allows the intercooler to breathe easily thanks also to the two thin rectangular openings below the main grille. The opening also allows all the frontal surface of the intercooler core to get good airflow. The driver side opening feeds the oil cooler while on the passenger side a custom carbon intake scoops up air and feeds it into the airbox. It's then up to the massive carbon front lip spoiler and double-sided canards (again made in carbon) to help keep the front planted on the ground. The frontend conversion doesn't end here, far from it in fact. It is then up to the wider Voltex fenders to beef up the wheel arches. The Voltex aero hood not only weighs a fraction of the stock aluminium items but features a large central air outlet as well as side vents to help keep the engine nice and cool. Pinning the hood securely down are the flush fitting Aero Cacth latches, which is the current trend in JDM tuning. The angular Voltex side skirts keep with the whole Cyber Evo feel and, like every part in the Voltex kit, have some air outlets, which in this case are there for the sole purpose of design, rather than function. The rear arches look like they are on steroids, thanks to the Voltex over fenders that widen the rear section to match the front end. Again the air outlets are there only for looks. The stock rear bumper remains but is joined by the Voltex carbon diffuser as well as a carbon exhaust protector. Keeping rear downforce in check is the massive rear Voltex carbon GT-wing that can be adjusted in two positions, while the Craft Square mirrors add a final touch of carbon fiber to the profile of the car. A set of chromed 19-inch Advan RS wheels were chosen for street and show use and are wrapped up in massive 275/30-19 Bridgestone Potenza R-01R tires.

Shadow Sports Design R35 GT-R

There’s more to the design in the Shadow Sports Design GT-R than just the name. There’s good old fashioned workmanship and care put into these creative parts. I think that drawing attention to them again Attention to detail is obvious in the way the carbon ducts in the front underspoiler actually lead to the brakes.

The rear dry carbon spoiler is elevated and shaped to enhance downforce at the rear while being curvaceous and attractive. The weight is down over the standard item as well. The rear under diffuser fins are again dry carbon and functional.

The wheels are another Shadow Sports Design original created together with Enkei, the forged magnesium construction gives them strength while keeping the weight down.

The overall feeling you get from this GT-R is one of subtleties and quality with extra attention paid to the details. That’s something that many enthusiasts are looking for and is rare to find. I think this is why the Shadow Sports Design GT-R is one of the finest GT-Rs getting around.

Pricing unfortunately is not yet available but it will be soon. Watch this space for more as it becomes available.

Thanks to Ben from GTR23.com for the images.

TAS09: Garage Yawata Street Special GT-R

It doesn’t come much more understated than the Garage Yawata GT-R with it’s barely noticeable external modifications. On the inside lurks quite a bit of power, 650ps to be precise.

Making that power is a LOUD full titanium variable sound exhaust system controlled by throttle linked bypass valve. The OEM ECU is tuned by Garage Yawata and the 100ps shot of nitrous doesn’t hurt either.

Garage Yawata recently finished second in the top speed challenge in Video Option DVD issue 178 published recently. Their top speed was 324km/h (200mph).

TAS09: Garage Saurus GT-R, Original Saurus Parts Net 650ps

One of the more subdued GT-Rs at Tokyo Auto Salon 2009 was also sporting some interesting modifications. Regular readers will have been tracking Garage Saurus’ build up for some time now and at AutoSalon we finally got to take some close up photos.

Featuring the Garage Saurus original parts lineup such as the exhaust system including Garage Saurus Extension front pipes, Garage Saurus No.2 straight through mid-pipes and Garage Saurus centre exit muffler.

On the intake side, an original Garage Saurus intake/intercooler hard pipe kit with silicon hose joiners was held together with upgraded hose clamps. A pair of Trust/GReddy R35 GT-R intercoolers is fitted to round it out.

Making 650ps on the standard fuel delivery system is not a great idea, the injectors will be strained resulting in a lean fuel mixture. Something you definitely can not live with. Garage Saurus have thus upgraded the injectors and to provide that stronger spark, have gone with OKD-R Coils. Controlling all these is a Garage Saurus Power-ROM ECU upgrade.

In terms of handling, Garage Saurus tuned Ohlins suspension with 16kg/mm spring rates up front and 12kg/mm spring rates in the rear does the job. Wheels are Yokohama ADVAN RS-D in size 9.5x20″+40mm offset front and 10.5x20″+20 offset rear wrapped in 255/35 front and 285/30 rear Yokohama ADVAN Sports tires. Stopping power is enhanced with some new Project µ brake rotors front and rear with Project µ 900i brake pads.

A Garage Saurus GT-R transmission cooler kit keeps trans temps down at the track.

TAS2009: Mine's Reveal New GT-R Carbon Parts

Mine’s have been quite good at keeping their latest carbon parts away from the public so that they can reveal them at Tokyo AutoSalon this year. Partnering again with Mooncraft, they have produced quite a number of premium quality parts for the discerning GT-R owner.

First up we have an updated Mine’s Dry Carbon front lip spoiler. This new lip integrates brake ducting and a slightly more aggressive look. This is available concurrently with the original Mine’s front lip spoiler.

Next we have this brand new carbon hood. Styled identical to the OE hood this has an exceptional finish and can be left bare or painted as shown on here the Mine’s demo car. The Mine’s carbon hood saves weight over the front end of the car, combine with the Mine’s anti-sway bars to help eliminate understeer.

Here we see the new Mine’s carbon trunk lid. Another weight saver which is again top quality. It’s finished here with the new Mine’s carbon fibre rear wing aero cover, again from Mooncraft.

Lastly for this post we see the finished Mine’s Type-II aero mirror covers. The design is changed over any prototypes we’ve seen before.

We’ll get some pricing and maybe even some weights of these items shortly. Until then enjoy the rest of the photos after the jump.

TAS2009: Shadow Sports Design GT-R Tuning Parts Debut

Japanese tuning house Shadow Sports Design has made an entry in the GT-R market with their new aero kit, wheels and exhaust parts which debuted this weekend at Tokyo Auto Salon. Lead by the legend race and test driver, Masami Kageyama-san, Shadow Sports Design has come up with some significant innovations that should be of interest to many of our readers.

First up is the aero kit, the kit includes a dry carbon fibre front lip underspoiler, dry carbon rear spoiler and carbon fibre rear diffuser fins.

The front lip spoiler is ducted and the duct is quite functional as it connects to a dry carbon channel which directs air directly onto the front brake calipers. You can see in the image below the duct airflow.

The rear wing is quite tall but lightweight being built from dry carbon. It’s shaped to generate more rear downforce on the circuit. The rear diffuser is attached as fins to the standard rear undertray on the GT-R.

Shadow Sports Design has partnered with Enkei to design these exclusive forged magnesium 20″ wheels. Available in two colours, Black which is a high gloss black finish and Gun Metal which is a semi-gloss dark grey finish. The Gun Metal finish is pictured below and the Black finish can be seen after the jump.

The use of forged magnesium in the wheels results in an very lightweight wheel and a consequential reduction in unsprung, rotational mass. Each front wheel weighs just 9.85kg, a 2.05kg saving, and just 10.6kg for each rear wheel, a 1.6kg saving over standard.

As for the exhaust, Shadow Sports Design has opted for a full titanium muffler with some unique burnt titanium tips. A titanium de-cat mid-pipe featuring a single resonator completes the titanium exhaust lineup. Those wishing to maintain the catalyzers in the exhaust have a stainless high flow cat option also.

To round out the Shadow Sports Design GT-R demo car is a pair of Shadow Sports Design racing seats fitted with Schroth Racing harnesses. Check out loads more photos after the jump!
